Program Highlight

One of my favorite things we do in the Twos happens in circle time. It is a small but profound moment. I ask the class if anyone is missing today. This can take a minute. I try to be quiet and let them look around and think about it. Then someone will notice a friend isn’t at school so we will “call them on the phone.”

This is a little song we sing (with motions!) that goes like this:
(First we pretend to pick up the phone and dial a number)

Hello John, How are you today?
We love you and miss you.
Please come back and play!

(Then we hang up our pretend phone)

The children love this and pick it up quickly. It makes us a little community and we remember to love and care about our friends even when they aren’t here with us. This is a GSES tradition in the Twos so I take no credit for it but am honored to carry on the tradition.
